Question Chicago

Since the new Avengers movie comes out this week, we want to know who your favorite superhero is?

Hmm, to be perfectly honest, I don’t really have one. When I was younger I had like a million Superman shirts, but I don’t really think I’d consider him my favorite. Henry Cavill is pretty nice to look at though…

I have to say The Goddamn Batman

In general, I’m in favor of anything with the X-Men, but particularly I am a big fan of Storm.  She can control the weather and fly which is awesome.  She is also pretty level-headed and doesn’t get too emotional, which is definitely my type of woman (you know if your into that sort of thing).

I’m not really into the whole Superhero movie thing. That being said, I have to go with Batman. I just really have no way of strongly defending my choice other than thinking Christian Bale is a babe.

Is Bruce Jenner coming out as a transgender for the right reasons or is publicity playing a role?

I was actually really excited to watch his Diane Sawyer interview and it definitely exceeded all of my expectations. I know he is part of the “Kardashian clan” who I think are all awful, but I actually think sharing his journey publicly will help others who are struggling, especially since he was such a macho man in the 70’s-80’s. I thought it was interesting when he pointed out how ironic it was that he was on this reality TV show about the girls and his awful, awful wife, when he was actually the one with the story to tell.

I think it’s incredibly rude for you not to give this person the benefit of the doubt. I’m not saying there aren’t people who would do that, because there totally are, but cross that bridge when/if you need to. Focus on the positive.

Angelo B.

Well I feel like anything that family does is for publicity sake. In this case, it can be a good thing since it gives an insight on something very few people can relate too or even know about.

I think publicity is most definitely playing a role, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t for the right reasons. The issue needs publicity, a LOT of publicity.

This weekend is the Kentucky Derby, where will we find you drinking your mint juleps?

Kim with the rings

Kim P.

I will not be partaking in any alcoholic beverages this weekend because I have half marathon #11 on Sunday morning and I need to be in tip-top shape to run sub-2:00!

Ashley B.

At my family birthday party. I’ll have to scrounge up a big ol’ portrait hat to wear.

This weekend my friends and I are doing this live action zombie shooting activity (I think it’s laser tag meets walking dead).  I’m pretty excited about it but probably won’t be drinking mint juleps.  What’s a good drink to have after a day of killing zombies?

Molly K.

Molly K.

I do love me some Kentucky Derby, but you won’t catch me drinking Mint Juleps anywhere. A mimosa is more my speed, and I have a Derby Party to attend!

We know there hasn’t been many warm days yet but is there a “Summer Song” that you have been hankering to bust out?

Kim with the rings

Kim P.

I haven’t heard any potential “Summer Songs” yet, but I’ll keep you posted.

Ashley B.

Ashley B.

“Sweater Weather” or “Let It Snow” come to mind, haha. Seriously, what is up with the weather these days?

Angelo B.

Angelo B.

Well I just took my actuary exam yesterday so this is the first day all year that I have been excited about summer. Everything just feels awesome because I don’t have the exam in the back of my head.  That said, I have been walking around with “Everything is Awesome” from the Lego movie playing in my head because I am in such a good mood!

“Stay” by Dave Matthews Band is, I think, the quintessential summer song. It actually makes me depressed in the winter to hear it.
